Why choose Collier & Company?

Founded in 2004 by Mark Collier, Collier & Company has always been on the same mission: to provide the very best gardening services at fair prices. We are driven by our clients who challenge us to turn their dreams into reality, and we do. Our secret to succeeding at making dreams come true? We are passionate about plants and will never settle for less than delivering the best garden landscaping and design.

At Collier & Company we are truly as great as the sum of our parts. A team of dynamic individuals that all bring a unique approach, set of skills and ideas fuelled by our life experiences that help us offer our clients creative solutions. As a group of collaborators, we can tackle a broad range of projects from simple planting or garden landscaping and design to festive installations. No matter the skills required for each project, we always deliver the same high standard of work.

The privilege of using plants and flowers or trees every day to bring our designs to life means we have a particularly strong relationship to the properties the soil has and the magic of helping a garden to grow.

Sustainability

Doing our part for the environment

Working with the environment, whether a small or large project, means we get to see first-hand the result of responsible gardening. We believe and adhere to the adage “Feed the soil and not the plant” – as a guiding philosophy for how we approach both a garden itself and the sustainability of it. Wherever possible we also like to consider using flora and fauna that sequester more CO2 than they emit, treating the soil as a great store for carbon in the atmosphere and composting to create fresh top soil from the help of our friends the worms. Our goal is not to replant your garden every season or year, but to help you grow a garden that will live beyond one trip around the sun, and will flourish with the right care to the soil it lives in.

It is for that reason that we have made it our goal to reduce single use plastic from our work as far as possible. Whether it is the bin liners or plant plots, we have dramatically reduced the need for single use plastic. We have also made a concerted effort to source from British growers wherever possible which is both good news for the UK economy and it cuts down the impact of importing from abroad. A bonus is that the plants are better adapted to our local climate and are in their natural habitat.

While we do generate large volumes of rubbish, we work with a certified contractor to sort and recycle anything that we can and use what we can as mulch or compust to replenish the land.

We avoid the use of pesticides not just for the plants, but for the protection and health of our staff and environment; using biological controls for pests and disease instead.

Our entire fleet is ULEZ compliant and we are moving to fully electric vehicles in an effort to reduce our carbon footprint even further.
